Most people like a good sing, whether it's at a football or rugby match, in the pub or (whisper it not!) at a karaoke session. Not only that, there's plenty of evidence that singing is not only great fun, but very beneficial for our physical, social, mental and even spiritual health. A good sing refreshes the parts... well, you know the rest. So what's not to like about joining a singing group? Well - let's admit it - it's getting started that puts us off, particularly for blokes. We're not sure whether we have a voice, and whether we'll keep up with the music, or simply look like a complete plonker. So to help all you aspiring tenors and basses (and hopefully to swell the ranks of the choral society), we're inviting you to a special introductory session, with absolutely no strings attached! We'll do some gentle singing, just to get you started, enjoy singing some simple songs together - and then, as singing is thirsty work, we'll adjourn to the pub. It'll be a great opportunity to see whether singing is something you could enjoy doing on a regular basis. If, after trying it out, you don't think it's for you, then that's fine - we promise we won't keep nagging you. This one-off event will take place at All Saints School, Lea Wood Road, Fleet, (GU51 5AJ for satnav afficionados) on Wednesday, September 17th, starting at 8.00pm No previous experience of singing in a choir is required, and you certainly don't have to be able to read music. We can't promise to transform you into the next Pavarotti or Domingo in a single evening, but we're pretty sure you'll have a good time. Do come and join us, and bring your (male) friends and relatives, and help us to prove to all those ladies that "Men CAN sing, too!"
